What do you do to remove heavy eye makeup with out harming your eye skin?

I use heavy eye makeup almost everyday. I wear waterproof eye makeup and have a hard time always removing it. I get dark old makeup eyes and look tired from not being able to always get off all the eye makeup. I use eyeshadow, mascara, and eyeliner. I would like ideas for removers, or ideas to removal. thank you for helping me out!

Use an oil-based makeup remover, a good one is just extra virgin olive oil. It is important to remove all traces of makeup everyday - or else the skin around your eyes may darken or age faster than it should.
If you can't find extra virgin olive oil for whatever reason, try out Neutrogena Oil-Free makeup remover w/ maybe a little bit of fish oil or Vitamin E. What I would do is use a good cleanser (for me, Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Acne Wash removes my makeup very well), then use the eye makeup remover - then you'll completely remove anything; go over places w/ toner if needed.
Also, alternate between washable and waterproof; waterproof tends to make your lashes very brittle and break sometimes; it's like using extremely thick gel on your hair - terrible, especially when you can't get all of it off
