Mac Eye Shadow

Should I get MAC eye shadow, paint pot, shadestick, ect? Which one?

MAC makeup is very expensive so I'd like to start with just one.

What form of colored eye makeup would be the best? Thanks!

My first MAC product was Bare Study paint pot and I can't live without it! I am on my third already! Well, technically the first MAC product was the 217 brush, but same difference.
I hate shadesticks, so I definately recommend a paint pot over a shadestick. Paints are a little too neutral for my taste, so I don't really like them to start off with.
That leaves you with the two options of a paint pot or an eyeshadow.
Now paint pots are amazing.
If you ahve normal to dry skin they will not crease on you, they last all day, and the color is very biuldable.
I have had days where I just swipe on a little paint pot and some liner and rush out the door and I look perfectly put together because it just gives you this sheer wash of shimmer.
But! It can also be biult up. I visit my cousins a lot in Seattle and when I visit them I ussually just bring my Urban Decay Ammo Palette and my paint pots because I am too lazy to bring much of anything else.
If you apply a paint pot with a concealer brush all over your lid, and layer it like two or three times, you get the prettiest shimmery eyeshadow every!
I absolutely adore Bare Study all over my lid with just a medium brown in the crease.
It's amazing!
Eyeshadows are fantastic, but its a pain to pick one or two to get.
I love Woodwinked and Espresso, or All That Glitters to start with. It's really up to you.
But if you start with an eyeshadow you need something to pair it with, like another eyeshadow.
So i personally would go for the paint pot.
Bare Study is my absolute favorite.
But before any of that! I would make sure you have a good eyeliner.
If you don't you need one!
I adore Mac's powerpoint pencil's they are amazing. I use Stubborn Brown everyday.
But if you prefer liquid just go to the drugstore and pick up some Revlon Colorstay or Loreal Lineur Intense Felt Tip.

That's all I have to say really.

Basically:
Paint Pots are amazing, and you can just use your finger which is a plus you don't really need to buy a brush.
Eyeshadows are amazing as well but you need good brushes and more colors to pair together.
Shadesticks and Paints are No-no's for me personally.
Eyeliner is a must!!
Don't get MAC mascara's unless it's plush lash. But you can just go to the drugstore and pick up some Rimmel Sexy Curves or Lashblast.
That's all I can think of really.
I would recommend that if you decide to go for the eyeshadow I would start off with brushes.
I know they are expensive, but totally worth it.

It's amazing! Ang you can find cheaper brushes there. My firs tmac brush, as I said, was the 217. After that I got the 238 which I really regret because I much prefer the 252.
Because good brushes really make all the difference!
And don't forget to buy some brush cleanser or baby shampoo to keep them clean!
